H1N1 Information
In view of the upcoming influenza season, including H1N1,
Northeastern Seminary and Roberts Wesleyan College are taking necessary
precautions to monitor and address flu conditions. We are working closely with
local, state, and federal officials as we identify and implement the best
actions for our institution.
Here are a few steps (adapted from CDC recommendations) that
we can all take in order to minimize the spread of the flu and keep our
campus operating as usual:
- Practice good hygiene by washing your hands frequently with soap and water, especially after coughing and sneezing. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective
- Practice respiratory etiquette by covering your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Immediately throw the tissue in the trash
- As much as possible, keep your hands away from your eyes, nose, and mouth
- Know the signs and symptoms of the flu. Those symptoms commonly include the folllowing: fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills, and fatigue
- If you are ill, please self-isolate at home until you have been fever-free for at least 24 hours, without the use of fever reducing medicine
- As vaccine supplies come available (and especially if you are in a high risk group) get vaccinate.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely as it
unfolds this fall, and will be in contact with you in the unlikely event that
we need to cancel classes or other seminary events.
