Community Context: Woodstock is located approximately sixty miles northwest of Chicago with commuter train service to the city, and has a population of approximately 24,000 people. It has two high schools, two middle schools, and several grade schools and parks. With a quaint and active downtown square, Woodstock also has a variety of shopping and dining options, as well as an historic opera house. Woodstock, while growing, still maintains a small town dynamic with easy access to stores and other amenities. It also has an Hispanic population that is relatively unreached by other protestant churches.

Choir Director
• Chooses and prepares music weekly for the adult choir (anthem, sung benediction, choral amen, etc.).
• The adult choir sings September-June. During the summer months arranges for singing or instrumental music in lieu of participation by the choir.
• Reviews weekly hymns (chosen by pastor) and teaches any that are unfamiliar to the adult choir. Coordinates with the pastor weekly on appropriate music that is in accord with the church liturgy.
• Attends rehearsal once weekly and service once weekly to lead the choir.

Organist:

If the church is unable to hire a full-time director of music, it will consider hiring a substitute musician to handle one or two of the responsibilities inherent in the position: organist/pianist, choir director with practices (schedule to be determined) and leading the choir in the 10:30 AM Sunday service. This person will have a Master of Divinity Degree or within the guidelines of the Book of Order - soon to be ordained. This person will help the pastor FPC in a manner consistent with our vision and Theology and provide spiritual encouragement to our congregation in deepening their relationship with Jesus Christ.
